This sweet little duck seems to be wondering if there are some yummy bugs hiding under those leaves.

She wouldn’t be wrong since the rain has brought out quite a few worms. (I’m not including a worm photo because, well, I don’t want to.)

I hope she found some good ones but I wasn’t going to stick around to watch her eat lunch. I’m not really a fan of squishy things. Ugh.
Happy Wednesday.
I can relate, but I’m guessing Ms. Duck might have appreciated some worm photos the way we appreciate enticing food photos. 😉

Hahaha! 😊 Very true! She seemed to be enjoying the real thing rather than looking at pictures, though. 😉

I don’t like squishy things either so thanks for not including a picture 😊

You’re very welcome! I did see lots of them about and could have included one, but nope. They’re better off with the ducks. 😊

Rain brings out all kinds of opportunities for the birds. We watched the Northern Flickers finding their meals along English Bay yesterday. Happy Wednesday, Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. I hope you weren’t too affected by that storm. It mainly hit the Island but the wind at Vancouver airport last night was rather intense. Yes, the rain does bring some good opportunities for the birds, especially right now when their food choices are starting to drop off. Cheers.

No big problems on the West End. I got Benji out for his night and morning walks and stayed pretty dry. Even this morning we managed about 5 k without getting too wet. I am sure more rain is on the way. Cheers.

Good to hear! We didn’t get much here, either. Overcast and some light rain. We’re clearing now. Cheers.

Beautiful composition on these photos. The little duck looks pretty among the leaves.

Hi Ally, thank you very much. I thought so too. Often the ducks will approach in hopes of a snack but she took no interest in me. Worms must be much more palatable!

Yes, she is very cute, and was very focussed on what might be hiding under those leaves! 😊

i’m not sure she would’ve wanted to share her worms anyway!

And she’s definitely welcome to them. They never were a favourite. 😉

She was rather intensely focussed, so I hope she found some good yummies. 😊

I’d much rather look at ducks than worms too! Love all the colourful leaves on the ground.

We had a lot of very pretty leaf litter everywhere but the wind has taken much of it off somewhere. I’m definitely not a fan of looking at worms!

Darn right! It’s your blog, so if you don’t want to show squishy things… you don’t have to!

Thank you, Penny; I agree wholeheartedly! It seems most viewers don’t want to see them either!
