A couple of days ago, the fog lifted and we were rewarded with a beautiful sunny afternoon.

We decided to go to Skaha Lake at the southern tip of Penticton to enjoy the weather with a walk.

The esplanade was filled with children, dogs, families, young lovers, seniors; everyone, it seems, was enjoying what felt like a genuine spring afternoon.

We had about 14C (57F), no wind and a gentle sun. It was great to loaf along watching dogs and children run around while adults smiled and chatted and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon.

This beach will soon be busy with swimmers, dragon boats, sailors, sand castle builders, picnickers and kite surfers. Hooray for spring!
Looks like a beautiful spot to visit to take advantage of the nice weather. We’re finally getting some sunshine too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Linda

Thank you very much, Linda. It is a beautiful lake and very popular for recreation. We’re back to cloudy and rainy today but that was such a terrific break!

They sure are. Part of the reason it was so enjoyable is that the sun put everyone in such a good mood. It was palpable.

A great day to be out and about Lynette. These winter pauses give people hope and help mitigate cabin fever. Happy Sunday. Allan

It definitely was. There was almost a carnival atmosphere since everyone was in a good mood, laughing, smiling and chatting. What a difference a little sun can make!

It looks like spring is eagerly anticipated given the number of people out and about. It looks perfectly idyllic. I hope you enjoy the weekend!

It has been so grey, rainy and foggy that there’s a lot of pent-up demand for sun, I think! It certainly put everyone in a good mood. Cheers.

We’re not that far along and today we are back with the rain and fog, but spring’s not too far away either. How lovely to celebrate the almond blossoms!

I’ve been on that beach at Skaha Lake many times, but it was a long time ago. I don’t remember a cement walkway then.

It’s a lovely beach and yes, there’s a wide walkway now as well as nearby tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic sites. It’s a really great communal park. Cheers.

Back in our day, there was just the beach. Still nice though.

Beautiful! We’ve had two sunny days in a row here, which means everyone is driving/walking dangerously all over the place! But hey, I’ll take it. The sunshine is wonderful.
