Over the past week, Cathy at Words and Herbs encouraged people to post flower photos to help chase away the winter blahs, but since all good things come to an end, today is the last one of the series.
I’m not much of a joiner when it comes to blogging challenges, but this has been fun, and especially seeing the posts from other participants. So thank you to Cathy for this great idea and also to Jude from Cornwall in Colours through whom I first discovered the challenge.
Today I’m posting a number of favourite flower photos from May, June and July – good memories of summer.

And last but not least …

Happy summer memories – it will soon be back.
So beautiful, makes me long for summer 🙂

Aren’t they? I could have taken dozens of photos, but I eventually had to stop …

I think I like that one best, too. It’s so dainty and the colour so soft.

I can only repeat what Rosie said – those roses are wonderful! Love the daisies too…. the bright sunshine in your photos is something we can look forward to as well as the flowers. Thanks for joining in Lynette. Glad to have met you! 🤗

One of the best things about winter is that spring and summer are next! Daisies are my all-time favourite flowers (although I’m a serious pushover for roses, too). 🙂 Nice to meet you too and thanks for the fun flower week. Cheers. 🙂

Gorgeous flowers Lynette. I really love azaleas. They remind me of our first trip to Japan. Happy Thursday. Allan

Thanks, Allan.
They are so gorgeous, aren’t they? There are a lot of them in Penticton, including the white ones.
A neighbour in Medicine Hat had a small one growing in a protected spot in her yard (it was about a meter high) but she had to go to major lengths to protect it, bundling it up in autumn and especially looking after it during chinooks. It was a beautiful bloomer, though.

My 2 attempts did not even yield greenery the next spring.

Sometimes you just have to give in, I guess.

That’s a beautiful rose. My geranium Rozanne still has some flowers on it, though last week’s freezing temperatures hit it hard. When it stops raining I shall cut it back.

Lovely that it was recently still blooming. Geraniums are so often overlooked and they’re such bright flowers. The geraniums pictured were cut back in early November.
I’m rather a pushover for roses. Cheers.

That’s a lovely range of summer blooms. Your “July ice cream roses” remind me of my ‘Joseph’s Coat’ climber.

Thank you very much. 🙂
“Ice cream rose” is just a name I made up for them since they always remind me of the ice cream I enjoyed as a child. They definitely do look like “Joseph’s Coat,” but these aren’t climbers. They’re in the city rose garden and I believe they’re a hybrid tea probably called “Peace.” Cheers,

I can easily see why these pictures made your highlight reel of your favourite flower shots from the spring to early summer. Stunning colours.

Thanks, Linda. It was hard to pick the favourites when I went back to look at all the pretty summer flowers. Cheers.
