Weather Change

We have had quite a bit of overcast with rain showers over the last week or so.

While I would have liked more sun, I couldn’t help but think of the areas where people are desperate for rain because of the forest fires, so I instead appreciated how green everything is.

Today the cloud began to disperse, and I understand that we are supposed to have good weather for the weekend. That’s great because there’s a lot going on: an Elvis Festival, a Car Collectors’ Cruising Festival, and a Rock and Roll fundraiser. M and I already checked out the car collection – in some ways quite nostalgic.

Have a good weekend.

  1. A nice shower refreshes all for the next burst of sun. We had one here last night and the weekend will be sparkling, but thunderstorm chances each day. We will take it. Enjoy the car show. These are always good to see. Cheers Allan

    1. We’re supposed to get showers tonight again but our daytime weather is good. Are the fires in northern Alberta out now, Allan? We have heard about that now there’s flooding. Yikes.
We took a look at the car show yesterday (it’s really crowded today with a couple of other festivals and the market going on as well). Yes, always interesting. Cheers.

      1. We have thunder showers in the forecast for the next several nights. The rain did help the fires, most of which are under control, but still burning. Edson, after evacuating twice for wildfires had to evacuate for flooding. Low lying areas near Whitecourt were badly flooded and there was a lot of road damage. The North Saskatchewan River through Edmonton rose significantly, causing closure of some of the lower trails. Feast or famine. Alan

  2. I know what you mean. I have such a new outlook on rain now. It looks like your overcast and rainy weather are heading our way next week, which doesn’t bother me. The humidity on the other hand …

    1. I am not fond of humidity at all, but we don’t really get much here, fortunately. I’ve experienced the summer humidity of Ontario – it can get quite high at times. I’m learning to enjoy the weather between the showers, which I’m happy to do since the fires are being kept down.

      1. We have one of the few east-west oriented “mountain ranges” (the quote marks are because compared to the Rockies and other mountain ranges they are bumps in the landscape) and they often divert storms to the north or south. We did get a good soaking but for just a few hours off and on.
A few towns from here there is a man who is a professional Elvis impersonator and has won several contests that way. 🙂

    1. Yes, the Peach City Beach Cruisers had their 20th car show on the weekend. Lots of people came to see it (and the Elvis impersonator festival as well), so it was a very busy weekend here. I don’t have a car collection. I only sometimes see the ones belonging to others. 🙂
