Prior to your photo, I’d only seen the California superbloom phenomenon through the paintings of Don Li-Leger, in an exhibit in the Surrey Art Gallery in 2020 — have a look! https://www.surrey.ca/arts-culture/surrey-art-gallery/exhibitions/don-li-leger-counting-steps-of-sun (it was combined with Susan Point’s “spindle” show, also very powerful)
