I took this photo last week before leaving the Okanagan.

There’s something very lonely about a late autumn or winter beach, but it still holds the promise of warmer days ahead. Spring and summer will arrive again.
Happy Thursday.

Oh, I don’t know… I like off-season beaches (or anything offseason) — that’s when the beach is itself, no longer just an obedient backdrop

An excellent point, Penny. I agree that they become themselves again, with their own character. I was pining for warmer days …

A good reminder of times past. Only white here this morning. It will melt, but not until April. Happy Thursday Lynette. Allan

Yup, white here, too. And -17C with the wind howling. Ugh. We will unfortunately have to wait until May … Sigh.

I enjoy visiting the beach during the fall and winter. It’s always so peaceful and quiet, which is the complete opposite of what it’s like in the summer.

Agreed. The beaches in Penticton are extremely popular and crowded (Skaha Lake is fairly shallow and the water becomes quite warm), so as a commenter above noted, the beach becomes itself and not a backdrop.
