That top one looks like a zinnia. They have such thick intense colours.

It’s actually called a “scabiosa,” which is part of the honeysuckle family (and has been stuck with an unattractive name because in ancient times it was used as a treatment for scabies). The flower in the lower part of the second photo is a zinnia, though. Yes, the colours are so great and they last so well as cut flowers.

Agreed! The autumn colours are so breathtakingly beautiful. There’s nothing with the trees and bushes yet but the bright, late season flowers are everywhere. Cheers.
