    1. Thank you very much. 🙂 I’m very much looking forward to it as today it was -40C. I didn’t bother looking at the wind chill reading. When it’s that cold, it’s just cold and you need to make sure anything mechanical is able to cope!

  1. A beautiful shot Lynette. Glad you are getting a break from the Great White North. These days, even the simplest change in scenery means so much. Stay well and have a great week. Allan

    1. Actually, that’s a road that’s next to the lake. I’ve seen recent photos and the snow is all gone now (there wasn’t much; Penticton is 2000 km south of here and in a valley, so it has a nice little micro-climate). Looking forward to seeing it again soon, snowless and a lot warmer than here!

    1. Yes. This lake is very close by. Penticton has some of the best scenery ever. We’re very fortunate to have our home there. The snow is apparently all gone now and the weather has been good. I took that photo on New Year’s Eve, 2021.

    1. This photo is from Penticton on Dec 31, 2021. It’s much further south; 2000 km from where I work in the subarctic, and it’s much warmer. The snow is gone now and I understand that spring is starting show itself. 🙂

  2. I bet you already know that Celsius & Fahrenheit meet at -40: same on either scale. (I learned that, my first and I think only -40C day in Calgary ages ago.) Love the icy blue of this photo. It breathes the cold…

    1. I do. Thank you; I love your description. The colours really proclaim the chill, I agree. This photo was taken in Penticton on Dec 31, 2021, when it was about -8C. It’s a lot warmer now and the snow is gone; much different from here! This morning it was -40. My eyelashes froze while I walked to work.
