I watched from my eastern-facing deck as the setting sun illuminated the overcast sky.
At first the effect was quite subtle but over the next few seconds …
… it became much more pronounced and fiery.
But as the sun continued to disappear below the horizon, the intensity of the orange-hued clouds gave way to the overcast and impending darkness.
