January Blues

The recent and intensely overcast skies that are dropping their drizzles and whipping up winds …

… relented a bit to allow a streak of orange light along a mountainside …

… while a little blue sky and sunny warmth broke through the gloom …

… but then disappeared again.

Happy Wednesday.

  1. Looks like a real mixed bag of weather Lynette, typical January. Here, we had the January blews from about 6 PM on as a snow squall went through and created visions of dancing shingles in my head. Looking forward to more predictable weather. Ha, I make myself laugh. 😂Happy Wednesday. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. It definitely was mixed! Oh my, dancing shingles? That must have been quite the wind! We have +2 and gloom but no drizzles. Supposedly it’s going to become sunny but I’m not holding my breath! We can’t have predictable weather; much too boring. 😉 Cheers.

    1. Thank you very much, John. 😊 The lake is too large and deep and we don’t get cold enough for it to freeze. We might get a bit of ice rime at the edges sometimes, but that’s it. The buoys mark shallower areas as many people boat year-round.

      1. I see, and I am very familiar with buoys marking deeper water. I used to boat on the Saint Claire River between the US and Ontario, the shipping channel for the huge Ore boats are 30 or more feet deep. Of course small boats like I had can go many other places.

          1. That’s great, I’ve never been on that lake. Oh yah, I really enjoyed boating on that river and put in on the Black River in Port Huron. This was the 90s.

From there I would head north under the bridge that connect Sarnia and Port Huron. Sarnia is a nice town.

I once drove the boat almost to Saginaw Bay, a loong way north of Port Huron. I also went south to the very shallow Lake St Claire too. Watch your depth finder…
