We have had some lovely January sun peeking through the …

… breaking stratus and cumulus clouds that constantly swirl and join and break again …

… while the snow stays properly in the mountains …

… to be enjoyed from a distance.

  5. I like your last two shots. Something about the frosting on the hills and the blue sky. Better weather is finally coming our way with temps up to 7 and staying above freezing overnight. Our January thaw. Happy weekend. Allan

    1. Thank you very much, Allan. I love seeing the snowy mountains against the blue sky and knowing that I don’t have to be in it and can just admire it from afar! Enjoy your good weather; you’ve definitely earned a break in it!

    1. Even if it’s cold it’s so nice to have some sun. When I lived in NWT I always enjoyed seeing the sun return after the very snowy winter start. -35 and sunny was always much better than -35 and overcast! Cheers.

    1. Hi Amanda! Here in British Columbia there are lots of snowy mountains (with plenty of skiing, too) and then there are valleys where we don’t get any at all. A great combination, in my opinion! Cheers.

      1. Hi Lynette, I had no idea that the terrain of British Columbia could be so varied. I assume that snow would be everywhere! It sounds like you have the best of both worlds!

        1. Hi Amanda, we’re very fortunate here in British Columbia. The coast and Vancouver Island are very mild throughout winter – there actually are palm trees growing in some areas – as well as two main interior valleys – where the wine grapes do well. The mountain ranges are snowy of course as is the northern interior. This province is rather large. Here’s a link to a comparison so you have an idea. Cheers.

  12. You gave me an idea of size, Lynette, for sure. The position where the state was overlaid on the map of Australia made me chuckle a little. Ironically, that area you overlaid with B.C. is flat and desert like! Lol. So very different! But I learnt something about Canadian geography. Thank you for extending my knowledge.

    1. Yes, we definitely have been. Long range forecasts are saying that we’re supposed to get cooler temperatures, wind and rain starting next week though. Sorry to hear that you’re going to get cold again, Linda. Ugh.
