The prognosticators said that we would be getting several days of freezing rain, but so far our temperatures have risen to 6C (43F) and there hasn’t been any rain, freezing or otherwise.

It has been a much different story in the mountains and particularly through the mountain passes, but here we have still been getting a bit of sunny brightness …

… which has been a very nice thing.

The snow in the mountains brings lots of happiness to skiers and skaters and down here, well, we get to avoid snowploughs and icy roads!
Happy Sunday.
We tend to take forecasts with a pinch of salt, Lynette. Looking out of the window works better xx

The forecasters seem to be getting the bigger pictures mostly right but the more local ones are often inaccurate. Agreed – looking out the window works!

Those skies make for the best open air museum 😊. Wonderful photos, Lynette!

Thank you very much, Belinda. 😊 We do get some very interesting cloud formations here, especially in winter. Cheers.

It does look idyllic Lynette. Our whiplash weather is due to continue and the snow keeps bringing mych needed moisture. A price that must be paid. Happy Sunday. Allan

I remember getting lots of wind, rain and rain mixed with snow after the 2023 drought and was thankful for every bit of it, so I understand your point. We definitely have been getting lots of overcast but there have been these lovely breaks lately, too.

These forecasters are paid to give their best guess…

I find they do a reasonably good job of the big picture but they often aren’t very accurate with the more local weather (you need aviation weather for that and the public doesn’t have access to it … ) Cheers.

Wow, I read your comment and went looking for aviation weather for BC, didn’t find anything either which seems odd, Lynette.

It’s a dedicated site that is part of the deep web (same as online banking or medical records sites and not indexed by search engines) so that it’s a bit more protected from hackers, etc. The U.S Federal Aviation Administration does the same. There’s a lot of public access in the U.S. but there’s password protected information as well. Cheers.

Oh, okay. How deep is the deep web? There’s also the dark web that must be deeper than the deep web, eh? 🤭😬

Hahaha. 😊 The deep web keeps your private info private, whereas the dark web is where criminals may roam under cover of anonymity. So yes, the dark web is definitely deeper than the deep web. 😉

I have no idea how to access that stuff and don’t want to know!

Beautiful photos, Lynette and one can almost sense the chill from that winter blue!

Thank you very much, Annika. 😊 The wind can really make it quite chilly at times and I agree, that comes across in the winter blues. Cheers.

Agreed! The mountains can have all the snow, and I can look at them from below.

For sure – that’s exactly how it should be! I can admire it up in the mountains where it belongs. Cheers.

Freezing rain is awful. I am glad you didn’t get any.

I agree, Thomas. Freezing rain is so awful and then the prediction was for 2-3 days of it. Glad it didn’t happen; I hope it doesn’t happen this winter!
