The almost continuous rain that we have been getting – although nothing like the inundation that the coast is presently experiencing – stopped for a bit during my afternoon ramble which made picture collecting a bit easier. Here’s a bit of what I saw.

A backlit pine cone …

… some very calm water highlighted by the merest hint of sky-pink as the blue hour settled in …

… and some lovely water reflections of both the sky and the city lights …

… while in the meantime the rhododendron buds await spring.
Happy Saturday.
Still glorious. Happy weekend, Lynette xx

Lynette, I can relate the weather, before yesterday we got less that 20 minutes of sunshine in December. Just rain and even grey. So today even the main newspaper wrote about the wonder of a sunny day yesterday 😀

A sunny day is such a precious thing right now!😊 But actually, I shouldn’t complain too much as coastal parts of this province are being flooded along with parts of Washington, too. In some areas the losses of stock, winter crops and infrastructure and homes has been bad.

Looks lovley. We heard it dumped in Revy so a great start to ski season. Maggie

Thank you, Maggie. I understand that Apex and Big White also have good conditions. No surprise that Revy got a good dump given all the moisture that’s been coming through! Have fun. 😊

Love that evening shot across the lake….makes me think of calling it a day and going for a beer as darkness falls…

Thank you very much, Phil. I was definitely tempted but it was a bit early. All the overcast is causing darkness to descend as early as 3:30! One was enjoyed later, though. Cheers. 🍻

But at 3:30….it’s 5 o’clock somewhere 😁

The blue hour keeps getting earlier and earlier. Those photos tell a story Lynette. Have a great weekend. Allan

Thanks, Allan. That’s very true. Particularly with all this overcast darkness is descending as early as 3:30. I feel like I might be back in NWT!

Beautiful photos. Glad you’re not getting flooded like some of the other areas.

Thank you very much, Jenn. We are certainly getting a lot of rain but have escaped the flooding, thankfully. The lower mainland has always been more susceptible to it but not to this degree. Climate change is definitely having an impact.

Thank you very much, Joey. The pine cones are definitely seasonal. 😊 Cheers.

For me, it wasn’t the seasonal thing, at all… I love pine cones anyway and your photograph is captivating

Thank you very much. I like them too and also not for seasonal reasons. Cheers.

Thank you very much, Belinda. I was quite happy with the water shots as well. I’m playing around with a new camera (I used the old camera for the pictures in this post) and took lots more blue hour photos so I’ll post some from that set later. Cheers.

It has been raining in Finland too. On Friday it was sunny day, but of course I was working. I am so sick and tired of the rain. This month we had only couple of day sunshine. You photos are lovely, thanks for sharing, so I can imagine the sun through your photos 🙂

Thank you very much, Minna. You’re very welcome; my pleasure. 🙂 We’ve had so much rain here and particularly on the coast where there has been flooding. In the mountains it’s coming down as snow which is creating happy conditions for the skiers but down here in the valley not so much. Today we have a bit of weak sun so I have to get out to enjoy it before it’s gone! Too bad you missed your sunny day because of work.

Thank you very much, Linda. Yes, it was definitely a nice respite and I hope the coast soon gets a break too especially from the flooding.
