We have had lots of wind over the last couple of months; much more than normal. That pattern seems to be quietening now that we’re closer to winter, but we’re still experiencing the occasional windy day.

We had another one recently and it cleared away some cloud that had been lingering; you can see the streaky sky in the picture above.

The clear air also gave us a pink toned evening before it became dark and the wind died off.

Happy Sunday.
very beautifull pic 👌

The colours are fabulous, Lynette! I’m sure that you know about the windstorms down here in the winter months.

Thank you very much, John. 😊 Yes, I remember those from my time living in Phoenix and flying throughout the region. We’re the opposite; ours are gone because we’re getting closer to winter!

Ah, are the Atmospheric River winds going to abate? It seems like a couple of years ago that river was making our winter much colder than usual.

We aren’t experiencing an atmospheric river right now; it’s just our regular late autumn/early winter cloud and rain. Our temperatures are in range for mid-November, too.
I looked up your weather on an aviation site and you definitely have a major atmospheric river going on as does California – it’s the same one. They don’t last more than two or three days but with this one that’s probably much more than you need, I would say!

Yes, two days of rain is needed but its also a bit much. If that makes sense, I’ve seen videos of the strip flooding again! Every year…

Clouds in the sky make for interesting views and photos Lynette. Also, for beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. I agree. The clouds here take on such interesting formations because of the mountains, but right now we are completely socked in by thick, low-lying overcast. It’s almost like fog. A sure sign of winter’s approach.

Yes, they certainly were, but we are getting buckets of rain here now, too.

We’ve had less wind than normal! Weird for us. Pretty sunset on the lake.

Yes, very pretty and something I will have to enjoy when I can now that we have entered the windless cloudy season!

Beautiful captures Lynette. We’ve been having some blustery weather too.

Thank you very much, Linda. The wind is settling now because we’re getting into the heavy valley winter overcast which tends to act like a plug over the Okanagan. I hope yours settles soon too. Cheers.

We have been having the same issues Lynette, we are still getting lots, but not as much as we used to. These photos are just beautiful.

Thank you very much, Leanne. It has finally died off as we just suddenly turned the corner into more winterish conditions. That means the arrival of the valley’s cloud cap which will dominate our weather for the next couple of months. Lots of rain and overcast, but no wind; I honestly had had enough of it! Cheers.
