Trying to keep them well watered has been interesting especially as they have become bigger but they’re still doing well and yes, enjoying some cooler temperatures now. We have finally dropped into the 20s with lows around 15 so it’s much more comfortable. Cheers.
Hahaha. 😊 That’s definitely true! I’ll be grumbling about how grey and overcast it is, too. 😊 In the meantime we had one good day of rain a week ago but nothing since and we do need it for that fire near Peachland and the smoky air, too. Cheers.
Such an amazing flower Lynette. We will never plant anything else in our back yard boxes and pots. I deadheaded them again the other day and they still continue to bloom. Happy Monday. Allan
I am very pleasantly surprised at how well they have done this summer in the heat. It was like a blast furnace up until a week ago and they even came through our away period (we stuck them in a big tray of water in the shade with extra water bulbs in the pots and they survived really well). Yes, ours are still happily blooming, too. Such pretty but hardy flowers. Cheers.
Thank you, Ally. It was hot here also up until a week ago with temperatures in the mid-to-high 30s (100s F) but we don’t get the humidity, thankfully. I did have to water them a couple of times a day though otherwise the heat would just fry them. I’m surprised at how well they have come through and are still blooming beautifully. Cheers.
I often forget just how resilient petunias can be. They seem dead, then rain and cool weather arrive and there the y are, brilliantly shouting out to the world from cracks in the sidewalk and walled gardens alike.
Yes, they are very tough and hardy despite those delicate bell-like flowers. Mine have done very well through the hot summer and are still blooming beautifully. They’re so bright and pretty. 😊 Cheers.
