Research has shown that green is a calming colour, especially the green shades that are found in nature. I think this is very true, because I always feel better when I’ve had a little time outside.

Kermit the Frog sang about how it’s not easy to be green, but it’s certainly healthy for us to be surrounded by it!
Happy Tuesday.
My fave colour ! Calming pictures.

Yay green! I adore it in nature but am less taken with it as a color of clothing.

I agree, Ally. I love green in nature but not usually as a clothing or paint colour. To me it always looks sort of off, especially as a paint colour. The paint companies can never get it quite right.

Me too! It’s amazing how being outside in nature has such a positive impact on our well-being and health.

It sure does, Linda. Even when I feel perfectly fine, a short walk outside (inside doesn’t have the same effect) can lift my mood. It’s amazing big how good it is for us.

As one who walks ion nature, I can confirm green has a calming influence. I love your bridge shot the best. It has that “French painting look”. Seems WP is playing silly buggers again as it did not show up in Reader but was there on your site. Worth the extra clicks. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan

The WP issue could be coming from my end as the app keeps telling me that it can’t update because I’m supposedly not connected to the internet (which isn’t accurate) and I’ve had to delete and reinstall it several times. I have reported the issue but I may stop using it altogether if it’s not repaired soon.
I’m glad you like the bridge picture as that one is my favourite. I frequently stop on that foot bridge as it’s so beautiful at almost any time of year. Cheers.

Green is so soothing, especially after a parched summer.

Unfortunately somewhere in the 1970s someone in the NHS in England must have heard the same thing, that green is relaxing. Consequently we went through a period when all the walls of hospital walls were painted a dark green colour which did absolutely nothing for the comfort of patients! I jest though because of course natural greens are indeed soothing, relaxing and calming.

Haha! The same thing happened over here, too! It was the ugliest, most horrible shade of unnatural dark green. Agreed – this colour was likely to cause a heart attack, not heal one. I love nature’s greens, but in my opinion paint companies can’t replicate any of them and it’s for the same reason that I don’t like green as a clothing colour, either. Nature’s green is wonderful, but ours? Not so much!

Thank you very much, Tricia. I always feel better after a bit of time outside – especially when there’s lots of spring or summer greenery – even if I had felt perfectly fine beforehand.
