A sundowner …

… over a gorgeous lake …

… with the comfort of Night’s soft cloak on the way …

… a frothy yellow flower brightening the day …

… and sunny respites with blue skies and clean water …

… a multitude of wonderful little things …

… to remember as we navigate this difficult world …

… so many of us so privileged.
Beautiful. 😊🌳🌷🌤

A great post of what is important Lynette. I always used to say…”Live each day like it was your last, because one day, you’ll be right.'” We are so appreciating our time at PLR in Jasper, as we decompress. Tow recommendations for your stay next week…Something Else Greek Restaurant and Su Casa Mexican restaurant. Happy day. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. I agree completely with that saying. I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying your time at PLB and it sounds like you really need it. We’re very much looking forward to being there. Thanks for the restaurant suggestions! Much appreciated! Cheers.

Beautiful Northern Lights. I keep forgetting to check the forecast. I see Allan’s comment, are you going to Jasper? Are you coming to Calgary? Maggie

That picture is from my time in NWT. I was able to get a series of them one time but fondly remember being up much of the night to try to get good ones. It was about -30 out but lots of hot chocolate and great parka did the trick! Yes, we are going to Jasper but unfortunately not to Calgary. We’re thinking of the end of June as a possibility, though.

They very much are, Hazel. I live further south now where the northern lights are less visible but yes, we were very fortunate to be there. It was a beautiful environment. 😊 Cheers.

I just laughed at myself when I finally figured out what that last photo is (the fish). I thought it was a comet really close to Earth (the water being mistaken for sky). Then I thought it must be a UFO. Then It must be some kind of bird. Once I realized the “sky” was actually water, the object turned into a fish. Whew!

Yes, that fish is swimming through the reflection of the trees in the water. The clouds are also reflected and I thought it made for an interesting “sky fish” photo. Sorry for the confusion; I probably should have added a little explainer!

If you had explained, I would have missed the fun of guessing.

Beautifully expressed, Lynette, thank you for the images, and the reminder to open our eyes and see, with gratitude, all the small wonders that surround us. (And what a lovely phrase, “night’s soft cloak.”)

Thank you very much for your kind compliments, Penny. We’re so focussed on the big picture that we often forget that I t’s the small stuff that keeps us healthy, grounded, and often, happy.

Did you capture that northern lights one last week. We had a stunner of a display last week and it was so fabulous. I love that, like me, you find gratitude in your life but recognize how privileged that makes us (I usually call it blessed but think your word is better).

All the pictures are recent except that one. I took it a couple of years ago when I was living in NWT. It was a fantastic display; one of the best I saw while there. We all seem to be so busy that we don’t stop to recognise all the little things that help us and lead us to more contentment and happiness. We live in an amazing world. 😊 Cheers.
