Alberta’s provincial flower, the lovely pink wild rose, has started to bloom.

Our recent slow rainfall has activated their attractive, gentle scent.

I’ve seen several large bushes loaded with buds, so there will be many more of them over the next couple of weeks.

The beauties of spring continue to emerge; I wish I could slow it down a little.
Happy Tuesday.
I agree, spring is speeding by. I do like wild roses, except for their thorns!

Yes, I feel that it’s just zooming by and I can’t enjoy as much of it as I would like to after waiting so long for it to arrive!

As many flowers as there are in the world at any one time, there should be more!

Funnily enough, th Alberta Wildrose hasn’t started to flower here in Alberta yet 😊 But it will rain for 3 days n a row so maybe once it has stopped. Maggie

Yes, that is funny although I remember them as sometimes blooming as late as August in southern Alberta if the weather had been cooler. Agreed, some rain and then some heat might get them going! Cheers.

My favourite part of spring in Alberta is when the trails are lined with wild roses. We may be home in time to see this. Have a great day Lynette. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. Oh yes! The trails and footpaths lined with them and then there’s the scent, especially if there’s a bit of rain. So beautiful.

Perfect description of them (Raindrop Roses) on a drippy spring day. They look even fresher than usual with a few drops of water on them.

Thank you very much, Anneli. I agree; rainy roses are always so fresh and attractive. And the scent! The wild roses have such a lovely mild scent that almost needs rain in order to activate. Cheers.

If only we could hit the pause button every so often. The wild roses are beautiful.

I know what you mean about spring whistling past. How can it be mid-May? Lovely to see the wild rose. Brings back memories of Alberta.

I do wish I could slow it down, just a bit … It will soon be summer; it goes by much too fast! Happy to trigger some memories of Alberta. I used to live there. Cheers.
