During a recent ramble I saw that the new spring growth is almost glowing with freshness and health.

With a sunny day and gentle warmth, there’s so much to enjoy at this time of year. Happy Spring Sunday.

England is in finery too just now Lynette, delicious greens on branches and hedgerows and a better-than-usual Spring flowers display.

How lovely, Phil! Spring has been somewhat later than usual here, but worth the wait given how beautiful everything is especially now that after three years we’re no longer in a drought, too. Enjoy those spring greens and beautiful flowers. Cheers.

Cherry trees are abundant in my suburban area, outside of Philadelphia. Is the same true for your area?

Hi Neil, yes, it is. There are huge commercial orchards of them but there are also many scattered throughout the city in people’s yards, too. Many other types of fruit trees are grown here, as well. Cheers.

Our spring “show” hasn’t caught up with yours yet. So I’m really enjoying this preview! Beautiful photos, Lynette 😊

Thank you very much, Belinda. 😊 You still have it to look forward to! We caught some of yours last year when we visited southern Ontario in early May. It was glorious. Cheers.

I love how the green of spring unfolds from dry branches and flowers emerge as if by magic. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

I do as well, Allan. I’ve been watching a Japanese maple that puts on the most incredible display of crimson leaves in autumn but doesn’t lose its leaves. They just sort of dry up and the bush starts to look dead. Those old leaves are now being pushed off by the new growth, though. Agreed, it’s like magic.

Agreed; it’s so great right now including sitting in the sun a bit with this new growth all around. Cheers.

Is that cluster of dark stuff in the middle of the larch some kind of a nest?
LikeLiked by 2 people
No, I don’t think it’s a nest, just a dry cluster of older growth that has died off. I’ve seen this before with older larches.

I have the periwinkle in my garden too, but not in bloom yet.

They’re so pretty; lovely to see. Blue flowers aren’t as common as the other colours. You should post some pictures when they come out. 😊

I love that periwinkle – I need some fabric that colour! Aren’t larch trees so amazing.

I love the rich periwinkle blue! So pretty. And the larch trees are quite amazing. They drop their needles in the autumn and then look dead during the winter only to come back with that lovely green.

And larch are so fast growing.

I want to climb in the larch tree.🤭

That would be fun but not in this particular tree. There’s a lot of old dry twigs and prickly bits next to the trunk, so it wouldn’t be very comfortable!

The spring is such a beautiful time of the year with all the new growth and colour. We returned home at a great time just as the weather started to get warmer and the leaves are starting to appear.

Yes, you definitely missed some nasty weather. For a while there Ontario was really getting a lot of rain, sleet, snow and wind. I agree Linda, spring is a beautiful time of year. Everything growing and warm weather but not too hot. Lovely.
