Hard to beat that sequence Lynette. Yesterday, we had pack up time, then sailing time, then unpack time and finally wine time. Wine o’clock came late, but it did come and with B.C. wine this time. Happy Saturday. Allan
Thank you very much, Allan. I hope all is well with your father-in-law. Wine time may have been late, but yes, it did arrive! The wine in the pictured glasses is also from B.C., very close by, in fact. A lovely little rosé. Cheers.
I am sorry to report that he passed the same day as Pope Francis. I am now in full on executor mode. As to the wine, I found a couple of Bask labels in a local store and the Pinot was quite good. Will try the Rose too. Cheers Lynette. Allan
Nice photos, Lynette. The first thing that struck me about the beach photo was the thin line of foam where the water meets the sand. Nature’s own outline of the lake.
Thank you very much, Anneli. Actually, there wasn’t any foam there (although I agree that it does look that way). That was just light reflection right along the water’s edge as the sun was emerging at just the right angle from behind a cloud. I sure like the effect. Cheers.
There hasn’t been any ice for about two months now, thankfully. There are some people pictured; they’re further down the beach but it was about 6:30 p.m. when I took this picture so it was beginning to cool off. The day had been about 21C (70F), so it was nice enough to sit in the sun but I definitely wouldn’t have gone in the water!
There’s great beer available here, too. When the mercury starts to skyrocket, there’s nothing better! It’s funny; M now has trouble with beer if he drinks more than one. The digestive joys of ageing …
A wonderful combination, especially when the weather is nice! We’re back home now and are enjoying some warm weather and spring blooms. Everything looks so lush and lively.
Welcome home! I hope you had a fantastic visit. We have been getting both heat and rain which has made everything explode. The wineries and orchardists are very happy right now especially after three years of drought. I think you missed some crappy weather in Ontario but it’s much better now!
Thanks! We had an amazing trip. And yes, it seems we missed some crummy weather while we were away – cold, overcast, rain and even some snow and ice. But now it’s starting to feel and look more like spring, which is good as we have quite a bit of gardening to do. Hoping to head to a nursery to buy my seedlings before the May long weekend.
You’re welcome, Linda. 😊 Yes, it’s probably best to get ahead of the May long crowds. Enjoy your garden especially now that the weather has settled. The snowball hydrangeas have started here and when I saw them I was reminded of how much you like them. Cheers.

Oh Allan, my condolences. So sorry to hear.
We haven’t tried Bask yet. It’s from Ontario and is 0g of sugar, fermented that way, I believe. Cheers.

Thanks Lynette. We are trying to regain our strength for the work yet to be done, so enjoying time with kids and grandbaby.
The Pinot was pretty good. The bottle does not really say a lot about province of origin, but we knew it was Canadian. Have a great day. Allan

Interesting! I thought it was the way the small waves hit the shore. But whatever did it, that line had a very nice effect.

I agree; very interesting and surprising, too. I don’t think I’ve seen something like that before and it’s so beautiful.

I see no ice on the beach, but also no people – and it looks very chilly!

Good memory, hydrangeas are so pretty. I’d love to plant more in our yard. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a happy Mother’s Day.
