We’ve rotated enough in our turn around the sun such that in the last week or so, spring has, creeping on little kitten feet, arrived. The wind, while still cool, is soft and mellow and the sun feels fresh.

There isn’t any foliage yet, but it won’t be long.

Next week our temperatures are supposed to climb again. Yay!
Happy Sunday.
It does, at long last. Normally I like Winter…I like the cold and snow but this year it has just been mostly all wet and dull. So glad that the buds are starting to come out in my garden and the birds are busy building nests.

I worked in the subarctic (Yellowknife, NWT) so I learned about cold and snow. I am in the southern part of the country now and in an area that is mostly rainy and overcast in the winter. I much prefer that to the -35C of where I worked, though! I am delighted to see the spring signs now, too.

Thank you very much, Tricia. 😊 It was glorious here yesterday, too. Everyone was in short sleeves. So great. 😎

Probably not a good idea knowing this country. 😉

Keep those spring photos coming Lynette. While we still have snow in yards here, the fields and roads are bare. It is nice to be able to walk with out micro spikes on. Sure hope we get some spring rains. Cheers. Allan

We’ve had a lot of snow here in Vermont, so a lot of rain would probably mean flooding – and we’ve had enough of that the past few years!

You need a nice slow melt, for sure.

I sure will, Allan. The weather prognosticators say that you’re supposed to get snow tomorrow but that it won’t last long. You’ll probably need those micro spikes for a bit still.

Oh yeah, even down here, spring is very welcome. Our winters are very mild but then the trees bud and the flowers pop!

Yes, I remember that from my time in Phoenix. 😊

After those bitingly cold winds coming off an Arctic glacier? You bet!

In Finland the weather has been warm (over 0 degrees of C) and we are lacking of snow. I hope the spring is on it´s way and soon the birds are arriving here.

I understand that Finland has had a somewhat warmer winter? Generally, Canada’s winter this time has been much more normal after some very warm ones due to climate change. Nevertheless, it’s good to see spring’s arrival! Cheers.

Yes! We finally have sun and warm weather. It makes a wonderful difference.

Right? It’s so great to feel some warmth from the sun; yes, so wonderful. 😊

It’s supposed to get warmer here next week too. It would be nice to have some sunshine too though.

I find the overcast to be the toughest to deal with, I think. Here in the valley we get winter inversions that keep the cloud layers in place like a lid on a pot. In NWT it was cold and the days were very short of course, only six hours in January, but we often had sun. I hope you get some soon. 😎
