This is from a few days ago when we had lots of frost around. Now it’s rain, a good step on the way to spring.
Happy Saturday.

Always a pleasure looking at nature’s little miracles. Happy Saturday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. It sure is. Windy here today and +8 with +4 tonight; we haven’t had frost in a bit now. I think your weather has finally warmed up substantially. Time for a walk without so much bundling up!

We are not long back from a visit to Jasper, where the low yesterday morning was +4. Right now, it is 6 here and the water is running in the streets. We walked in shirt sleeves today. Yay

That’s such a crazy change from earlier this week and if I know Alberta, there likely are more temperature dips coming, but right now, it must feel so great to be out of that deep freeze!

Here’s to warmer weather! 🔥🌞😎

That photo was taken about three weeks ago, so we’re in better nick now. Well above freezing both during the day and at night, too. This valley is very temperate with hot summers and much warmer winters but not as warm as yours. 😊

That’s great! Our summer nights cool to around 85/90F, trust me, it feels nothing less than wonderful after a day of 110+ heat. 😎🔥🌴

I understand as we experience similar summer temperatures. The daytime temperature is about 44-45°C (111-113°F) which is why we have peach, cherry, apricot and pear orchards and also grow a lot of wine grapes, especially for red wine. Agriculture is very important here as you can imagine. Nights go down to about 30C (86F). This valley (the Okanagan) is a microclimate and quite different from what’s nearby.

Wow, that’s so amazing, Lynette! And so far north too. Pears… Yum!

Yes, microclimates are quite something.

I saw a program on how mushrooms have a micro climate under them, amazing!

Yes, they sure do. Interesting how they grow. 😊

Thank you very much, Anneli. We’re past the frost stage now. 8C today, 10 expected for tomorrow but lots of rain, too. Should make everything grow!

I was sure there would be no rain to spare for anyone else; that we got it all today.

We have a huge overcast with, very unusually, wind from the east. The sky keeps looking like rain, but so far, nothing, so maybe you did get it all!

We got lots of wind and rain. Like a winter storm. Calm now though.

UGH. Oh well, 11 days of skiing in 13 days… that’s a decent amount of time. We are skipping the last resort and going home early.

Love the frosty photo. A lot of our snow has been melting thanks to warmer weather too.

Thank you very much, Linda. Good to hear! Ours didn’t really last long so it has been gone for a bit. We’re getting double digits; so great.
