Thank you very much. 😊 It was what we call MVFR (marginal visual flying as opposed to flying by instruments). That bit of low cloud was only over Edmonton as the rest of the flight had been clear.
It’s definitely a different way of looking at a place! I clearly remember that at first I found it a bit overwhelming trying to figure out what was what and where was what, but like anything, experience helps.
I think the homeowners/buyers in those ares and elsewhere must sign paperwork that make clear that you are buying a residence that is noisy. Not for me!
After landing on what I think is 25L many times, I know from being right under the approach path taking photos, one of which is on the wall in my home, there are restaurants and apartments under the approach path.
I love aircraft of any kind but living directly under an approach path is not something I could deal with…
What a super shot! I have a nephew in Edmonton.

I lived there for a couple of years 20 years ago – I did a lot of flying from there. It has good restaurants!

Amazing photo! Were you piloting the plane?

Yes. There was some minor obscuration but a lovely evening flight.

Ahhhh, Edmonton. It sure has changed a lot, since I moved here 50 years ago. It has been good to us. Happy weekend Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. It sure has. I did a lot of flying from City Centre which of course is gone now. I have enjoyed Edmonton a lot over the years, too.

Looks like you caught it through a hole in the clouds. Great picture. Maggie

We will trust you on the fact that it’s Edmonton! I don’t recognize a thing!

I think I see the devil down there skating?

Hahaha. 😊 That could be! I tried to stay away from those horns. 😉

A beautiful photo, Lynette! The aircraft looks like it has props, maybe a turbo-prop engine?

That is a turbo-prop single, a Pilatus. Fast airplane. 😊

Pilatus! I see them flying over my house departing from North Las Vegas Airport, such a beautiful aircraft!

It’s a nice airplane. I used to fly to VGT when I lived in Phoenix. Cheers.

Oh, nice!! That airport is east of my home, I’m not directly under the approach paths. I can’t hear anything from LAS, good news!

I hope the homes under LAS finals are cheaper to buy – that would be noisy!

I love aircraft but I wouldn’t want to live under finals for busy airports landing big commercial jets. Ugh.
