Since it’s winter and a lot of us are experiencing rather grey and/or white conditions, it’s time for a bit of colour and brightness. Here are a few reminders of what’s coming our way.

Have a good day.

These are all stunning, particularly the echinacea. It’s nice to enjoy some beauty during the grey of winter.

Thank you very much, Tricia. It’s so monochromatic right now that I really enjoyed scrolling through my flower photos and thought I would share that. I took the echinacea photo several years ago. Cheers.

Thanks for the bright spots in a grey winter Lynette. Can’t wait for the return of spring flowers. Have a good Friday. Allan

You’re very welcome, Allan. I can’t wait, either. We have been getting a bit more sun lately but that kind of makes me wish for more! Cheers.

You’re very welcome, Sue. Sometimes we just need a little colour and brightness, don’t we?

Thank you very much, Belinda. 😊 We are very, very grey here right now, so posting some flower photos seemed like a good thing. 🌺

Thank you very much, John. 😊 Our temperature is still above freezing at 5C (41F) so not as warm as you are but okay. A lot better than what I had working in the subarctic!

Subarctic – no thank you! Both of my birdbaths have frozen over the last two nights, so it’s cold down here but nothing like way up north. It’s 57F just now, still T shirt and shorts weather if you aren’t staying outside too long, love this!

January temperatures in NWT can be very low. -50C (-58F) isn’t unheard of. We had to park the aircraft inside and cover their engines, too. Dealing with low temperatures was a major chunk of our work.

Wow, it make me wonder why people live up there… If you were born there which those people are I suppose it’s just part of daily life.

You learn to take it in stride; after a while you just get used to it. I actually loved working at the top of the world. It was an amazing experience and the people were wonderful, but after six years the cold did finally wear on me and I wanted to move south.

Wow Lynette, you are a tough girl! I remember being used to the cold as a kid skating on the lake plowing our skate rink off and also on snowmobiles. That was 45 years ago!

Getting older does have an impact on our abilities to do all sorts of things, including tolerate cold. Cheers.

Thanks for the reminder. I could definitely use a bit of colour these days as it’s been such a cold and grey winter in southern Ontario.

The prairies always get more sun in the winter but it seems they have been rather grey this winter, too. Sorting through my flower pictures gave me a boost, so I thought I would pass it on. 🌸
