October Greetings

Walking through the crunchy leaves has been an enjoyable autumn experience accompanied by strong childhood memories of playing in the leaf piles.

I’ve always liked this Bugs Bunny cartoon; another enjoyable childhood memory associated with autumn and Halloween. After all these years, it still makes me laugh.

I hope you have a little chocolate and enjoy the day, perhaps with some crunchy leaves to walk through. And don’t forget, Abracadabra and Hocus Pocus are the magic words. 🎃

  1. I loved watching bugs bunny too.

I have enjoyed walking through autumn leaves. But I have not done it as much as I would like.

As for chocolate. Thank you for the reminder. I have not had some for a while surprisingly. So, when go shopping today, I will add chocolate to my list.

    1. Hi Liz, when I was a child, Bugs was my favourite cartoon character and I particularly remembered Bugs’s encounter with a vampire. I hope you have the time to walk through some more leaves and to enjoy some chocolate, too. I love it, so I really have to watch eating too much of it!

      1. I have enjoyed some chocolate today.

My next walk through leaves will probably be Monday.
I have not long ago walked through some leaves around the corner from where I live, with seeing my mum.

  2. It’s very satisfying to stomp and swish through the dry leaves. Love the Bugs Bunny clip – I used to watch it when I was a kid too. We’ve been enjoying unseasonably warm weather these past few days. It’s supposed to reach a high of 21C today, but rain is on the forecast for this evening starting around 6pm, which is prime time for trick-or-treating. We plan on doing a lap around the block to show off our little one in her cute kitty costume before heading home to pass out candy. We need to get rid of it otherwise I’ll (keep) eat(ing) it.

    1. I couldn’t agree more, Linda. I’ve heard about your warm weather (we have family in London). A high of 24 is expected today, I believe! We are seasonal with our 10ish degrees but lots of snow falling in the mountains now which will make all the operators and skiers happy as last year the conditions were dismal.

Would love to see Baby M in her kitty costume – how cute. Wishing you lots of fun with her Linda; it goes by so fast!

  3. When Bugs says “Abracadabra” at the moment the heavy stone is lifted up and then comes crashing down upon Dracula’s head as he’s changed into a helpless bat……..Is pure comic magic!

    1. Hahaha. 😊 I don’t like that either, but since I don’t have a yard any more, I get to enjoy the leaves without the clean-up. 😉 I hope the wind is keeping your yard leaf-free while you’re in Vancouver.

    1. Happy Halloween! 🎃 It has probably not been cold enough to produce the drop in chlorophyll required, especially for the red leaves. We’ve been experiencing a lot of that in various places around the country, too. We definitely weren’t as vibrant here as we were a couple of years ago but still very pretty. Our temperatures have only been seasonal for about the last 10 days or so. Enjoy the day, 😊

    1. I remember that, too. Waddling along under the weight of coat and costume! Sometimes we even had a dusting of snow. But wow, your temperatures are really zooming up and down! Stay cool (or warm?)!
