The public rose garden in Penticton is still beautiful and will probably hold out for about another month before the gardeners put it to bed for the winter.

Given our lovely weather, lots of people are sitting among the flowers, eating lunch, reading, or just enjoying.

It’s a perfect place to escape life’s stresses.

Happy Tuesday.
Such a beautiful spot for a picnic. 😊

Always nice to see the roses hanging on. The bush roses in New Brunswick are still generating blooms amidst all the wild flowers. Autumn colours are arriving. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. It still looks very summery here, but I’ve noticed a bit of colour starting here and there. These roses are doing remarkably well especially after all the high temperatures so it’s great to still be enjoying them.

It’s quite lovely how long roses bloom for. This looks like a fantastic spot to enjoy them and the views of the lake.

It’s glorious! Your photo of the bee is amazing; it seems to know they’re a perfect match!

It’s great to have this lovely garden. It has a very soporific effect; even the bees aren’t in a hurry. Yes, that one was a good match. 😊

What a lovely garden. I wish our roses would do this well, but if they won’t then I’ll enjoy roses via this post.

The city puts in a lot of gardening work as there are multiple public gardens and parks as well as lots of ground and hanging flower pots everywhere. I’ve often admired how well everything does, but whoever is caring for the roses is doing a particularly good job, I think. I’ll keep posting rose photos as long as possible, so stop by any time. Cheers. 🌹 😊

So nice to have a long growing/blooming season.

I agree, Anneli. So much longer than NWT or even southern Alberta where I also have lived.

You’ll be so happy to have another relatively mild winter in Penticton, even if it’s -20.

If it goes down to -20 again, agriculture will be decimated, so I really hope that doesn’t happen. But yes, very happy to have another Penticton winter, I hope without anything lower than -10. Even so, no more -45 for me!

It’s the wind that comes with it that makes it feel so cold, but you’re right about the agriculture. I hope it stays mild enough so the plants can withstand it.

Yes, I hope so too, Anneli. The stone fruit crop was nonexistent this year and of course many of the vines were killed or affected, so another year of that would be a terrible hardship for farmers and wineries.

What a lot of work and expense to recover from this.
