  1. Still gorgeous and hopefully a bit less crowded for Penticton residents, as tourist numbers decrease. September is the best month. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. It was still pretty crowded and busy last week – we had the International Ironman competition here at the end of August – but with school start-up the tourist numbers do decease significantly. There are a lot of wine tourists in September and October but they are a different sort, usually not as interested in the beaches. September is a beautiful month – the locals get to roam a bit more!

  2. It’s my favourite time of the year! It’s already cooled down dramatically in southern Ontario and I am loving it! There’s still quite a bit of mosquitoes in the evening though, which has been surprising (and unpleasant).

    1. Nice to hear that your weather is more comfortable now, Linda, and Baby M is probably sleeping better, too. We are still in the low 30s but it’s cooling at night which is a lot better. Still with the mosquitoes? Ugh. We don’t get many biters of any sort here, thankfully. Blackflies and mosquitoes don’t tolerate the high, dry heat very well and of course the dragonflies – who love the climate conditions here – think they’re delicious. These hot temperatures at least keep the bugs down!

    1. I lived in Arizona for a year while doing some flight training, so I understand about those temperatures there. Highs in the 40s (110-115F) were quite normal. But I was younger and handled the heat better (I have never been good with humid, though!). I hope you get a reprieve soon, Jacqui. Our days are still hot as well – 32C (90F) – but at least we’re cooling off at night.
