Daisy Deer

We recently saw this mule deer when we were hiking in a provincial park.

She looked up from whatever yummy plant she was eating, waggled her ears, posed, let me take a picture and then went right back to her lunch.

She looked so beautiful and unconcerned as she stood among the daisies, feeling comfortable that no harm would come to her.

Happy Monday.

    1. It sure is! I definitely did stand still, Stuart, but we were in a provincial park so she seemed to know she was reasonably secure. Still, they can unexpectedly scamper off if you don’t keep your distance. She assessed me as no threat and went back to eating while I skirted around her. So lovely to see them like that.

  1. So nice when they stand still. They are usually so skittish, you just get a look at the flick of the tail as they bound away. Have a great Monday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thank you, Barbara. We all need to see a cute picture now and then. Yes, we have deer that walk right through the downtown. The ones in less human-dominant areas are a lot more skittish, though, so I was a bit surprised that this one didn’t scamper off.
