  1. Looks beautiful Lynette. Welcome to summer. The sun sets here after 10:05 these days…too late for us old folks to stay up and watch and the sunrise at 5:05 wakes me up too early. Happy Solstice. Allan

  2. Today around 2 p.m. I’m going to watch for the earth juddering to counteract the forward lean into the sun and begin to right itself as we begin the journey toward equal day and night in the fall equinox. Meanwhile, we have a lot of daylight hours today to get a lot of daytime activities done. I remember as a young girl, going outside after 10:30 on solstice evening in Dawson Creek to test if it was light enough to read by – and it was. “Science” is so amazing.

    1. Yes, I’ll be waiting for that too! We’re continuing to take it a bit easy as we’re still recovering from flu (I developed a raging secondary ear infection and became quite sick again, but on the mend now with antibiotics). So we will enjoy it, we just have to be slow.
I loved testing things out like that when I was a kid.

  3. Oh, ‘marvelous’ is a marvelous word. We’ve tumbled around the sun again, solstice to solstice, and now we’re trekking back around again. It is marvelously so!
