Late May views of Lake Superior…

… show a calm face …

… patiently waiting for beachgoers and picnickers …

… a temporary gentle giant, taking its summer rest.
Happy Tuesday.

Superior indeed. Lovely shots of the lake. It’s not often that it’s calm.

For sure – Superior can definitely roar! That was such lovely day and the lake so beautifully calm.

That is such a huge lake. No wonder it takes forever to drive around it. Nice to see everything looking so green. Happy Tuesday, Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. Seeing the Great Lakes on a map shows how big they are, but yes, you can only get a real sense of that by driving around them or sailing through them. Many years ago I did a sailing trip on Lake Ontario and was amazed at its size, but it’s of course the smallest one!

Lovely photos, Lynette! I particularly like the feeling of calm in the last one.

Thank you very much, Belinda. It was such a beautiful day and Superior was on its best behaviour, so it was very tranquil. 😊

It looks so peaceful — before the summer hordes I guess. Bernie

It was definitely a beautiful day and yes, few people about. I think that it might be rather sparsely visited even in the summer. That area of Superior is not easily reached – weekends from Toronto or Winnipeg wouldn’t be possible, for instance – and most nearby communities are still relatively quite small. Cheers.
