Tobermory

We drove from Markham (near Toronto) to Tobermory for our ferry trip across the mouth of Georgian Bay (off Lake Huron) to Manitoulin Island.

We had a restful evening at a very comfortable inn before our early morning departure. The ferry was in port in preparation for the next day.

After our evening meal and walk back to the inn, the sun began to go down.

The next morning dawned chilly but calm.

We passed the light house as we departed for our two-hour ferry ride to Manitoulin Island.

After a very smooth crossing, we continued our road trip, stopping often for rambles and photos.

Happy Wednesday.

  1. Oh, I remember Tobermory! I met a sailboat there, and was crew down to the southern end of the lake. Had a great time! Then had to hitchhike back to my car, there being no public transport, and then slept in the car at a gas station as nothing was open for fuel. The joys of youth…

What are you using for a camera? Any comments on it yet?

It’s a beautiful part of the world; enjoy.

    1. It sounds as though you had a fantastic time on that trip. I remember when hitchhiking was pretty common and I did it a few times – like you – to get back to my car. Wouldn’t dream of it today!

I am using my Sony Alpha. So far, I’m finding that focus and continuous mode work very well. Resolution is also strong.

Thank you very much. We are now north of Superior and encountered very bad weather today; very foggy and lots of rain and wind.
