It’s a Poinsettia Time of Year

Every Friday for the next month I am going to post a poinsettia photo; after all, even if you don’t celebrate any of the December observances, they are a lovely bright spot in a usually cold, gloomy weather period!

Sparkling Punch poinsettias on a greenhouse shelf.

I’ve seen many types of poinsettias before, but not this particular variant. They are indeed rather “sparkly” and the name is very appropriate.

Happy Friday.

    1. Typically, I’ve seen light pink all the way to the traditional red as well as white and light green, too. The one pictured is a variegated pink and green, which I hadn’t seen before, either. Hybridisers are always working on creating new poinsettia colours, though.

    1. Thanks, Allan.
I’ve always liked that, but then again that’s why we like strings of lights and sparkly and twinkly decorated trees, isn’t it? Quite elemental to want to throw off the darkness and cold.
