The storm that passed by us dropping a lot of rain and whipping up the wind has continued on out to sea. It has left a disturbed ocean, however.

This photo doesn’t really do them justice, but these waves were quite high.

The red do-not-swim warning flags were out everywhere, but lots of people were going in the water anyway. The waves coming up on the beach were definitely powerful enough to knock down children or anyone who’s a bit unsteady. We took a long walk on the beach but didn’t swim.
Happy Sunday.
Nice 👌

No matter what, the mighty seas always appear comforting in a different manner ✨

They sure are. Poseidon and Proteus might have a good go, but the ocean is always a comfort.

Respect the power of the ocean. Nice to see the waves….from a distance. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

Thank you, Allan.
Definitely. Respect is the watchword. I was a bit shocked to see so many people in the water. I wasn’t going in there!

White caps are the telltale sign! Beautiful, but rough (and often dangerous) if you’re in a small boat.

They sure are, Anneli. These rollers were strong and quite high; I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to be trying to handle a sailboat!

No way! I’ve learned that white caps can be far worse than they look. Good time to stay ashore.

They sure can, Anneli. I used to sail on Lake Ontario and have done some limited sailing in the Caribbean. This was many years ago when I learned total respect for the ocean.

That’s a good attitude to have.

My stomach feels queasy just looking at those waves! Beautiful view, though!

I think trying to sail in those waves had the potential to cause quite a lot of tummy trouble. The view though – stellar. 🙂

Agreed! I noticed that the sea here turned a beautiful green ahead of any kind of weather issue.

I really like the contrast of blues and greens in these pictures, Lynette. I think rough ocean waters are exciting to look at, but not to swim in. That said, there are plenty of people who like to challenge nature!

They sure do, Barbara! We were content to walk at the surf’s edge, but even there, the suction on our feet was very strong.
I agree; the blues and greens are such beautifully intense and contrasting colours. They’re a joy to photograph. Cheers.

Watching the waves is mesmerizing. Same with listening to the sounds of them.

It was really wonderful. I think I spent more time looking at the ocean than reading my book!
