There are a mix of beautiful sights right now. Some are quite summery while others are decidedly autumnal.
The ninebark and garden grasses look very fallish, even though ninebark blooms very late in the season. One of the little pink blossom clusters is still visible.
A lovely variegated dahlia – a summery sight.
Dark red chrysanthemums lend an autumnal air.
Last but not least, a summer throwback: these roses are still vibrant and determinedly blooming away along with many others in Penticton’s rose garden.

The variegated dahlia is gorgeous. Reminds me that I need to use more variegated annuals in our flower beds. Next year, of course.

I agree. I always forgot about dahlias when I owned a yard and garden beds, but they would work in my deck pots, too. Yes, next year. 🙂

Thank you very much. They usually do bloom this late but not this profusely. They also have new leaf growth which shows that the plants are confused; it’s been too warm.

Thank you very much. I think that many plants are quite confused by the warm temperatures. For example, it’s normal for some roses to still be blooming, but there are many of them and I also saw new leaf growth as well. These plants should be getting ready for winter!

All those blossoms and fall colours are such a pretty sight. I’m hoping they’ll all last a bit longer this year. I’m not ready for winter.

I’m not ready yet either! But it does look like they will last longer, at least here. The autumn so far has been unusually mild.
