I love that even though we’re into October, the beaches are still somewhat busy with family and friend barbecues, and now that we have had rain, it’s also okay for a beachy fire pit, too.

I hope we’re settling in for a lovely long October.

Happy Tuesday.
I think human instincts are not so far off those of birds and animals. We see and sense that winter is coming and redouble our efforts to enjoy the outdoors. Looks like a very pleasant day Lynette. Happy Tuesday. Allan

I agree, Allan. I’m seeing lots of birds getting ready to either fly further south or hunker down here. I feel that too; the need to get out and enjoy it while I can, although I won’t be as limited by weather as I was in NWT. Cheers.

Your post captures the essence of an autumn beach so beautifully. The colors, the smells, the sights – it’s like being there. It’s a reminder that we can find joy in the simplest things. I also appreciate your perspective on the passage of time, and how it’s reflected in the beach and its surroundings.
Thank you for this thoughtful and evocative post.

Thank you very much for your kind words and you are welcome. 🙂
I find that the first picture in particular has a very autumnal sense, even though there’s not much detail to confirm that (a bit of yellowing on some tree leaves, but otherwise nothing). I love walking there, seeing the change in the seasons; it’s very satisfying. Cheers.

I see what looks like a ferry boat in the background. Are you within walking distance of that lake?

That’s an old ferry from the 1910s (it’s a paddle wheeler) that is permanently drydocked and is now a museum. Yes, this lake is a block away from where we live. The lakefront is comprised of public parks and beaches, so it’s accessible to everyone. I frequently walk the trail system through there – never grow tired of it. Cheers.

I rarely go to a beach and never to swim. That said, this looks like a lovely spot and I am sure a very enjoyable day spent.

I don’t usually swim either, and I always bring a book and never read it. I usually just end up watching the water. I find it very relaxing and serene. Cheers.

Might as well take advantage of the nice weather while we can! We’re actually planning on visiting a beach for the Thanksgiving long weekend. We’ll be flying into Thunder Bay tomorrow and staying in a cabin at one of our favourite provincial parks along the shore of Lake Superior.

How great, Linda! Our weather has been so nice this week, warm (not hot), sunny, lovely to sit on a bench or even the beach. Some people are swimming as the water is still quite warm. Have a great weekend together with lots of hiking/walks!
