Penticton’s rose garden is still going strong; it’s not yet showing any signs of autumn despite the fact that it’s now October.

Happy Monday.

So nice this garden is still in bloom. A real credit to the gardeners and climate. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan

The city looks after this garden, the Japanese garden and all the hanging flower pots (there are many of these everywhere) as well as the other parks, city trees, sculpture installations etc. It’s a lot of work; I usually see at least one truck whenever I go out. They do an excellent job of maintenance, it seems to me. And yes, the climate helps, too. Cheers.

Nice any time but particularly in October!

I agree, Belinda. The roses will likely last quite well into late October/early November. Cheers.

Roses live and die by their own calendars, that’s been my experience

My mother used to grow roses – she was very fond of them – and she had a similar philosophy. I think good maintenance and weather can help them along as well. Cheers.

Someone puts a lot of work into these flowers.

The city has a large gardening dept. Their trucks are out all the time as there are lot of city-owned parks, beaches, trees and two gardens to maintain. I have seen a team move very efficiently through the rose garden doing a bunch of different jobs.

Beautiful roses. Summer is lingering here in France as well.

They aren’t showing any signs yet of autumn and neither is the garden itself. It’s still very summery. A long autumn is wonderful.

They sure are, Lori. It’s great to see that they’re still thriving, as is the garden itself. Cheers.

How nice and, to my experience, unusual that roses are still blooming away. Lucky you and the rest of Penticton. My neighbor across the street grows several varieties of imported roses and all have turned brown by now.

This garden isn’t showing any indication of autumn, and it was happily blooming away until late October last year, too. The city seems to be doing a terrific job of maintaining them. Cheers.

Beautiful captures. Glad to hear the roses are still holding on. Hopefully this means we’ll have a longer than usual fall!
