Afternoon Beach Time

It’s nearing summer’s end, but after weeks of very high temperatures and nearby forest fires, the air has for the most part cleared and allowed a little comfortable beach time.

I brought a book with me but I didn’t do much reading.

I watched the boats going in and out of the marina, the kids playing on the sand and in the water, and the ducks stopping by to see if there were some snacks to be had.

It felt very luxurious to be able to just sit and enjoy, relax and not think about anything much.

There is an adjacent park and we walked though it when it was time to head home. It was a thoroughly wonderful afternoon.

Happy Sunday.

  1. Sittin’ Doin’ Nuthin’. The best gift we can give ourselves, Lynette. Crappy here yesterday with AQI of 10+ until about 6 PM. Back at 10+ this morning. Hoping for clear air soon. Have a great Sunday. Allan

    1. Thank you, Allan. Exactly. For some reason I just wanted to sit there and let my mind drift. It was great! Not sure where your smoke is coming from as there are still so many fires in northern BC and of course the Shuswap fires are still blazing although I understand they are close to being “held.” Yesterday our “special air quality alert” was removed for the first time in weeks. I hope your air quality improves soon, Allan.

  2. It looks like a lovely place to visit. There’s a calmness to your photos that calls to me. I doubt that I’d have read a page instead of looking at the beauty in front of me.

    1. It is a lovely place to visit. There are lots of beaches near here but this one is generally only used by locals and has a more laid-back atmosphere. Thank you very much, Ally; usually my focus is to communicate calmness and tranquility. Most of us are so busy. Cheers.

    1. Me too, Terry. These fires have devastating (still are as many of them continue to burn) and have caused a lot more environmental damage. And I keep thinking about all the tree destruction to our planet’s lungs.
