Taking the Long View

From a trail above Okanagan Lake there are many lovely views.

We like to hike this trail a lot.

This was a beautiful day unaffected at that time by a large fire to the south of us in Washington.

The blaze crossed the border and has caused some local smoke; we understand that headway has been made by the hardworking firefighting crews, however.

Happy Wednesday.

    1. We have hiked/walked this trail lots. You can do an 80 km (50 miles) section over to the next city if you are prepared to camp (I used to do that in younger years but not anymore!), but trail access to do smaller sections is readily available. The views all along its length are fantastic. Cheers.

    1. It sure is, Anneli. I love being back full-time; no more job trips north for me. I’ll be finishing my last couple of work months from Penticton and will enjoy the gorgeous autumn months, too. Cheers.

  1. This looks like from Giant’s Head. I have ridden the KVR all the way to Princeton and back – I had to camp on the way of course as it was a three day ride.

    1. I took these photos from just above the Nicol winery. We love this section of trail but have accessed many other sections. Good on you for doing the whole length! I haven’t as I just don’t camp anymore. Cheers.

    1. It’s quite a gain in altitude so the views are just spectacular. You can go all the way to Kelowna as well (about 80 km) if you camp and there are many who do. Camping isn’t in my wheelhouse anymore, so we have done the trail in sections. Cheers.
