I particularly like these multihued roses that I recently saw.

The same plant was producing flowers with colours ranging from tangerine to pink to yellow, with most blooms displaying at least two.

Aren’t they pretty?
Happy Sunday.

Beautiful flowers. I don’t see variegated roses often but when I do I’m reminded of my grandparents’ garden. They seem like old-fashioned flowers to me.

I agree, Ally. They have an old-fashioned aura about them although I’m not sure why. I read up a bit on variegated roses and apart from learning that several kinds are considered to be “old fashioned” in the sense that they are documented as going back three or four centuries, the ones shown are not among them. They could just be a local variant as I couldn’t find them online. In any case, I love how summery they look – almost like ice cream. Cheers.

Love the variegated roses. We saw some in Vancouver that were named ketchup and mustard roses. Their beauty outshone the name. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. Agreed – ketchup and mustard doesn’t seem like a good name for roses – condiments with leaves? 😉 I’m forever cleaning those bottles …

Such lovely colors! Back in Ohio, there was a rose garden that we used to visit, and your rose here reminds me of all the wonderful varieties we used to see. The names were fun too.

Aren’t they beautiful? And so summery, like creamsicles. These were in a rose garden too, but no labels on them, unfortunately. It’s wonderful how many different varieties there are. 🙂

Peachy roses are so pretty, especially those variegated ones. I bet they have a wonderful scent.

I agree. I love the pink-tipped one with the peachy interior. It’s so evocative of summer. They did have quite a strong scent – so lovely.

Aren’t they? To me they almost look like they could be spun sugar!

Agreed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such variation on a single plant before. As I commented above, they almost look like they’re made from spun sugar. Such pretty colours.
