This creek is less than a block away from home. The lower end of it, before it empties into Okanagan Lake, is a favourite of our resident ducks.

In the twilight of a summer evening, it’s lovely to take a stroll on the path next to the creek.

The path itself is also quite lovely. Doesn’t this look like it could be Hobbit country?
Happy Friday; happy weekend.
What a beautiful scenery. You’re lucky!

Love the photo with boulders that look like giant potatoes (or are they giant potatoes that look like boulders?). 😀

Actually, they’re giant potatoes that only look like boulders. The city revitalized this creek for the salmon after it was literally “paved” back in the 30s. But unfortunately they couldn’t afford to replace the boulders and now just use potatoes. The fish don’t seem to mind at all. 😉

Thanks. I love salmon and potatoes. If I were there (in my much younger and hungrier days), that creek would definitely be in danger of decimation! 😀

Fish with potatoes is a classic, but you might be in competition with the bears. 😉

After a hot day, late evening walks can be a chance to cool off a bit. We like to walk the loop here on an evening. Not as scenic as your path. Happy Friday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. Agreed. It’s great to hear the creek and the birds doing their sleepy tweeting – it’s a very relaxing way to end the day. Yes, this path is very pretty; we’re fortunate to live nearby.

Thank you very much. 🙂 The first time I walked that path, I fancifully thought that I might meet a Hobbit, and that sense is more defined in the evening. 🙂 Cheers.

surrounding ones self with nature is like wrapping yourself up in your favourite blanket!

I can see Bilbo trotting down that on his way out of the Shire after his 111th birthday 😀

So pretty and relaxing. We used to have a walking trail where we lived when we first moved back home, but we were renting then. Where we ended up buying has no walking trails like yours. I miss it. We do have a creek and a river nearby. We can walk to the creek, but no trails. Enjoy it, and have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks, Lori. It’s very pretty trail, Lori. Straight out of a picture book and with a babbling brook nearby. Losing favourite amenities can be such a downside of moving, but in our case we moved very deliberately to this end of town because we wanted to be able to walk to most places, including many of the paths or trailheads. A wonderful weekend to you, too. 🙂
