We had good weather for the most part on our return drive from the south to the north.

Snow tipped mountains reflected a bright sun.

Happy Thursday.

Those views certainly make for an enjoyable ride. I really like the second of the frozen river and distant mountain.

Hi Steve, we have done this route a lot and it never fails to be impressive (actually, it shouldn’t ever fail). Such a gorgeous drive. I took the second photo when we stopped to stretch our legs – the rest stops have gorgeous views, too. 🙂

Hi. What are your daytime high and low temperatures?

I am back in the subarctic now where our lows are about -15C (5F) and highs are about -9C (15F). That is incredibly unusual, especially for January. Our high should be around -35C to -40C. Our elders are saying that they have never seen such a warm January.

Oh my, does it ever. The drive to Penticton in December was brutal. Thanks, Allan.

Yes, I agree with Steve – that photo with the sun on the mountain and the icy river in shadow is great!

I can feel the presence of God from those photos. What a wonder for you to be among those mountains. Gorgeous.

Hi Lori, it seems that many people feel that way about the mountains. They are certainly awe-inspiring! M and I were saying a few days ago that once I retire, we won’t be driving the Yellowhead Highway as regularly any more. We will both miss that.

Glad to hear that you had good weather for most of the drive back to the cold snowy north. The mountains look so majestic, especially with the snow.

It was pretty good for the most part and we even had some sun through Jasper. Much easier than our drive to Penticton in December. Cheers.
