Subarctic Cold

After a very temperate autumn, especially for the north, we have been whacked by a sudden cold front that will deepen as we head into December.

In less than a month, I will be heading to warmer temperatures in the Okanagan Valley for the winter break.

Although this weather produces an extremely clear air quality and beautifully bright daylight, I am already looking forward to more warmth.

  3. Now, that is a winter sky. I was lucky never have to visit NWT for work in the winter, but it does look pretty. Count down the days to home Lynette. Thanks for sharing. Allan

    1. It really is beautiful, Allan, and there’s something about the air quality, so fresh and clean, that intensifies that effect. But my, it’s cold, and will get colder still. I am definitely counting – 23 days to go!

    1. Yes, it is, as it’s on a major highway. Many years ago this river was crossed during the winter via an ice road. The bridge is over the Mackenzie River, the second longest in North America after the Mississippi.

  12. Nice capture! But I don’t miss the cold weather in the North Country! Have a happy vacation at Okanagan Valley! Never been there but looks nice from the pictures
