I found some tea roses still blooming in their cheery pink.
They won’t last much longer now, but it was lovely to see them still rosing along.
Having spent a week in Penticton, I am now back in the north. There aren’t any leftover roses here, as it’s too chilly in October!
It was really great to experience some gentler autumn weather for a little bit, though.

It’s good that you stocked up on a last bit of warm sunshine. Now you’ll be in northern mode for a while. it gives me goosebumps just to think about it.

Yes, I agree! Today it’s four degrees, pouring rain and the wind is just howling. It was quite an unpleasant shock. Ugh.

Brr! It’s noticeably cooler here too, but not quite as bad as what you have.

What a delightful surprise to get a little burst of colour. I imagine the days are feeling really short now that there isn’t nearly as much daylight up north.

Right now we have 12.5 hours of daylight, but that will decrease rapidly as we get closer to the winter solstice. At that time we will have about six. The days become so short! In June we only have about four hours of twilighty darkness.

I tend to hang on to the last bits of summer, but the best thing is that they will be back next spring. 🙂
