I watched from my eastern-facing deck as the setting sun illuminated the overcast sky.

At first the effect was quite subtle but over the next few seconds …

… it became much more pronounced and fiery.

As the sun continued to disappear below the horizon, the intensity of the orange-hued clouds gave way to the overcast and impending darkness.
Happy Thursday.
Skywatching is a fascinating activity.

Yes, it was quite a show! At first I didn’t think it was going to be very intense but as it developed I grabbed my camera! Cheers.

I have tried to comment on the Charlie Angus repost. I could read the links but not your post. Anyway, thanks for reposting it, hadn’t heard the Greater NA comment. Maggie

Hi Maggie, that was an unfinished draft that got published when I accidentally hit the touch screen. I’m surprised you were even able to see it as it was only up for about 3 seconds. I’m equally surprised that the links worked for you as I’ve had a lot of trouble with them which is one of the reasons why it’s still a draft. I’m glad the links worked this time, though!

I opened the links directly from the email, and then went back to try to open the post, but couldn’t.

Thanks for the explanation. I’ll try posting it properly if I can get it to work. Ugh.

Looks like WP has fixed the No Comments thingie. Every day is a new adventure with WP. Love your Sky Transformation sequence. Happy Thursday Lynette. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. Yes, I saw that there’s still a little glitching going on with some posts but it’s all gradually clearing up. It seems WP likes to tinker too much and it blows up on them. Right now my site has its times all confused and thinks I’m in Alaska.

I love sunsets. But I think I love sunrises more. Your photo stories are great!

Thank you very much. 😊 They are both gorgeous but as I’m not much of an early morning person, most of my photography occurs a bit later in the day. 😊
