Yes, those are the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. When I lived in Northwest Territories I saw them frequently. They really are beautiful, almost like an undulating curtain in the sky.

Yes, very true but I now live much further south and also in the mountains and both are geographical reasons why it’s presently much more difficult for me to see the aurora.
