The beauties of the world are there …

… for us to see and appreciate …

… if we choose.

So many, many around the world …

… would give almost anything …

… to live as well as untold numbers of us fortunately do.

It sure is, isn’t it, Anneli? Not just literally but figuratively, too.

Thank you very much, Belinda. 😊 That marmot colony seems to have had a population explosion! They have spread all the way down the breakwater and there are lots of cute little ones.

Very true. And we’re lucky to have so much wilderness and opportunities to enjoy nature here in Canada. Lovely set of pictures. The marmots are so cute!

Thank you very much, Linda. We aren’t perfect by any measure but we are also very fortunate in so many ways. Good to remember not to take it for granted. That marmot colony is very well fed and has now spread all the way down the breakwater boulders along the lake. So many people bring them carrots, lettuce and dandelions, their favourite. They’re living a pretty good life. Cheers.

It is sad, that for many, their journey through life is too busy to just open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds us, not only the beauty of nature, but the beauty one can see on every street corner. Oh, to see the world with “miracle eyes”!

For periods of time, I’ve been one of them, unfortunately, not because I was deliberately ignoring but because I was just that – too busy and very often, too exhausted. Retirement has given me the luxury of being able to see in the way that, for many years, I’ve wanted. It’s sad that the human world frequently produces this disconnection.
