To See and Appreciate

The beauties of the world are there …

The beach near our home.

… for us to see and appreciate …

Dandelions – a big favourite – for our marmot community.

… if we choose.

Under a snowbell tree.

So many, many around the world …

A duckling among the lily pads – mom and dad were close by.

… would give almost anything …

Lovely orange poppies.

… to live as well as untold numbers of us fortunately do.

    1. Thank you very much, Linda. We aren’t perfect by any measure but we are also very fortunate in so many ways. Good to remember not to take it for granted. That marmot colony is very well fed and has now spread all the way down the breakwater boulders along the lake. So many people bring them carrots, lettuce and dandelions, their favourite. They’re living a pretty good life. Cheers.

  1. It is sad, that for many, their journey through life is too busy to just open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds us, not only the beauty of nature, but the beauty one can see on every street corner. Oh, to see the world with “miracle eyes”!

    1. For periods of time, I’ve been one of them, unfortunately, not because I was deliberately ignoring but because I was just that – too busy and very often, too exhausted. Retirement has given me the luxury of being able to see in the way that, for many years, I’ve wanted. It’s sad that the human world frequently produces this disconnection.
