love to settle in our deep valley …

… collecting on benches …

… hugging the parapets and obscuring the mountains; following their own path …

… seemingly alive.

These cloud streamers are so pretty Lynette. They give a bit of interest to mountains and valleys. Have a great Monday. Allan

Thanks, Allan. I agree. The weather has been very calm, too. No wind to speak of and we’re not too cold, around -1 or 1. The temperature is being closely watched this year after last January’s cold snap. Cheers.

Those are gorgeous–and look very cold!

They are quite dramatic, I find. It actually wasn’t very cold when I took these photos; no wind and well above freezing. It does look that way, though.

I love these low clouds that hang around the valleys. They’re very picturesque. You must see them quite often, there’s one valley in Kananaskis that we see them almost every time we pass. Maggie

I find them beautiful as well. Yes, we see them frequently, especially in December and January. They will gradually taper off as we start to warm up; that’s a pretty good sign that spring is in the way. Cheers.

And that is why I couldn’t live there! It’s lovely to look at it in photos but I couldn’t handle the cloud cover that lasts for so long. Bernie

Yes, it is pretty but I can understand why it definitely affects some people. It can certainly get very, very grey here in winter – valleys are prone to the overcast and cloud. I was raised next to an ocean and am used to extensive winter overcast. Cheers.

And I was raised in the prairie sunshine, and my 2 years in North Van almost did me in. I kid not. I struggled out there in a huge way.

I know someone who couldn’t stand it either and moved from Vancouver to Calgary after only a year. Agreed; the overcast can cause some serious issues.

Yes, we get very dramatic looking cloud formations throughout the Okanagan Valley. It looks cold but actually it was wind still and relatively comfortable. I love to look at them, too.

Love the bands of fog and mist. You’re right, they certainly look alive and that they have a mind of their own.

I love them, as well. We usually get them when there’s an inversion and the weather is very calm and relatively warm, too. They’re beautiful to watch. Cheers.
