We are in the middle of something called an “atmospheric river” – cute name – that is bringing loads of rain and wind off the Pacific – so I don’t think much will be left after it goes through. You have to enjoy it while you can! 🍂
We look at autumn leaves and think they are all just one colour, but when we really look, we see how many shades, spots and cracks there are. Decay is a pretty but not always graceful process. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan
Thank you very much, Allan. That’s very true. I love the variety of them and how they go right back into nourishing more lovely growing things. I hope you’re enjoying more of this process in Vancouver. Cheers.
There sure is, Anneli. I guess the wind from the “atmospheric river” did in the last of them. I just drove through the mountains from Calgary and was surprised to see how many were coming through that storm.
Right? The beauty we have right now is so precious. I’m holding on to it as well. I like your term “leaf looking” rather than “leaf peeping” which I find sounds creepy!
The same is more or less here. 😃 Happy weekend!

Lots of variety in the colour of leaves these days. A lot of our maple leaves have fallen now. Just a few still hanging on.

We’ve been doing a lot of leaf-looking lately–trying to hold onto this moment while we can!

Thank you very much, Tricia. It sure is. The beauty in this decay is both present and future.

I’d rather rake leaves than shovel snow! And I love that swishing sound and smell of stomping through fallen leaves.

Me too! “Leaf crunching” – as my kids used to call it – is one of autumn’s lovely little gifts. Agreed – the sound and smell is just so wonderful.

The colors of autumn leaves are almost magical. It just shows how surprising mother nature is, and how she can change her face every time.
