I regularly walk near these white ash trees and two days ago, they were green …

… but they have now donned their autumn dress in preparation for their winter sleep.

In the meantime, we get to enjoy these gorgeous colours.

A beautiful interlude.
Happy Monday.
It didn’t take long to change colour, but wow, those trees are beautiful! Maggie

I was amazed at how fast that was! I could tell the leaves were getting ready to turn, but I wasn’t expecting the change to be that quick.

Well I remember telling you a day or two ago how surprised I was that everything was so green!

Yes, I remember your comment. It didn’t take long for that situation to switch (or be switched)!

Beautiful autumn leaves. Just glad I don’t have to rake them up. I have enough already. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan

Thanks Allan. These trees are in Okanagan Lake Park which is maintained by the city. They have a sort of leaf vacuum that also mulches and seems rather efficient. I never used anything like that, though. It was always an old-fashioned rake with – depending on my age and/or inclination – cocktails or hot chocolate afterwards!

Gosh, they changed colour quickly. And both gorgeous.

I was very surprised at how quickly they changed, Jude. I could tell that they were about to but I expected it to be slower. I like how these trees are red on the outside but look gold when looking up into their tops from next to the trunk.

Stunning colours, especially with blue skies in the background and the sun is shining. Our fall colours haven’t been as vibrant this year.

The colours right now are very vibrant and the weather just right to accentuate them. Sorry to hear that you’re not getting the usual autumn colours; possibly they will intensify if you get some colder weather. I’ve fixed your comment. I hate making mistakes like that, too. So irritating.

We are having some really great weather, Belinda, and seeing the great autumn colours against that blue sky is a treat. 😊

Brilliant colours. Remember those when the branches are naked and cold this winter. They sure look great right now.

I certainly will. Although the winters here are pretty tame compared to NWT, I’m sure I’ll be whining by January!

It’s our job to whine in the winter. How else can we make spring come back?
